About Dr.Nirav Desai

My journey began in Jan 2006 at Adarsh Hospital Pvt Ltd Valsad as a General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, My Laparoscopic training With Dr J.B. Agrawal Mumbai, one of the pioneer in Indian Laparoscopic Surgery platform helped me to perform all basic Laparoscopic Surgery including extra peritoneal inguinal hernia repair I got attachments with peripheral centres like Alipore Hospital, Gram Seva Trust, Kharel and Damania Hospital, Gandevi. I was happy to serve patients in real need with good quality at best affordable.

I realized need of learning basic endoscopy to establish better diagnostic results before surgery in 2008. I started learning it from Dr. Pankaj Desai and Dr. Mayank Kabrawala at Gastro Care, Surat. The learning lasted for one year being once a week way.

My prime interest in GI and HPB surgery led me in contact with various stalwarts in similar work. I started attending National meets on subject. I was fortunate to get mentorship from Dr. K. S. Patel, Kaizen Hospital, Ahmedabad and Dr. Nilesh Doctor, Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. This exposure made me strong in doing pancreatic surgeries in particular. With constant learning my upper GI and Colorectal surgical work also started flourished for all kind of benign and malignant deceases.

Due to my constant inclination, I got an opportunity to serve at a bigger platform-Kasturba Hospital in 2013, a 200 beded hospital with good setup and huge patient inflow. I continued all kind of GI, HPB and Laparoscopic Surgery. I added some new chapters-Neonatal and Pediatric Surgery as well as Arteriovenus Fistula work.

My relationship with SIDS Hospital, Surat established a strong rappot and support from surgeons like Dr. Dhaval Mangukiya and Dr. Keyur Bhatt. 2023, l decided to narrow down my sprectum of practice to GI, HPB and Advanced Laparoscopy. I took a break and started learning the same at recently established new SIDS Multi Super Speciality Hospital, Surat for 7 months. | transformed my skills and knowledge in similar area during this period. Able and perfect guidance of Dr. Keyur Bhatt and Dr. Dhaval Mangukiya led me to perceive the minute details of even pre op, peri op and post op management in the field full of challenges. I got lucky to get an observership at prestigious AIG Hospital, Hyderabad in Sugical Gastroenterolgy for a short period. It enriched me towards the current standrads and surgical practices in the area of interest.

The successful transformation has ended and I am back to serve all our patients. I look forward to a new beginning. I trust all your support as I had in past.
